The
Pittsburgh Catholic Forensic League consists of Catholic, private and public
high schools located within the geographical region of the Diocese of
Pittsburgh. In addition, because the diocese of
Schools that are members of the local league automatically register to become part of the National Catholic Forensic League. Rules governing the national league apply to the local league as well.
In order to join the local and national
leagues, the director of forensics at the interested school should contact the

Because of the national membership registration deadlines, the local registration deadline is November 1 for returning schools and November 25 for new schools. Once a school has registered for the local league, it is entitled to send competitors to the diocesan tournament where students qualify for competition at the national tournament. Speech and debate qualifiers are held on the first Saturday of March; student congress qualifiers are held on the first Sunday of March. The Grand National Tournament is held in various cities of the member leagues over the Memorial Day Weekend.
